Dormant spores appear uniformly opaque under electron microscopy, and are undifferentiated as a rule. Spores which have lost their dipicolinic acid, as well as those which are germinated, appear with characteristic changes in luster consistent with their status. The acquired rawdata images have been tonemapped into digital audio format using standard false-color adaptive processes in which physical geographic features are translated as analogous tones and textures as embedded patterns. It should be noted that shadows, as aberrations and not true physical features of the original specimen, carry no direct analog and contaminate the output audio as filtered time artifacts. These data slides have passed through 3rd degree data validation and is the best available copy.
